The Arabic Union Catalog Participates in the 22nd Annual Conference of Special Libraries Association, Arabian Gulf Chapter The Arabic Union Catalog (AUC) Participates in the 22nd Conference of Special Libraries Association, Arabian Gulf Chapter (SLAAGC) held in Kuwait from 19-21 April, 2016, entitled "Future Challenges of Library and Information Profession". This participation was represented by presenting some various events. Dr. Saleh Almusned, director of the AUC Center, gave a speech in his capacity as the keynote speaker of the conference. His speech tackled the future of libraries and information centers in the Arabian Gulf States, as well as challenges face them and solutions proposed in light of the technological and organizational developments, projects, and knowledge initiatives launched earlier. Dr. Almusned was honoured by the conference organizing committee. Dr. Almusned and his delegation undertook some field visits covered some of important libraries in Kuwait. On the sidelines of the conference, the AUC held a training course at headquarters of the American University of Kuwait about the the AUC practices in cataloging. 20 trainees from more than 6 entities attended this training course. Moreover, the AUC held a special exhibition and distributed some AUC brochures as well as Majallit Al-tasjeela. Besides, an informational film about the AUC was shown. The ARUC booth witnessed huge visits from participants of the conference. 15 new members from Kuwait and neighboring countries were engaged.
