An introduction to the applications of Resource Description and Access (RDA) in the AUC

The Arabic Union Catalog (AUC) held a training course entitled: An introduction to the applications of Resource Description and Access (RDA) in the AUC. This training course, held at King Abdul Aziz Public Library, Riyadh, was considered the cornerstone of applying the latest international standards of RDA in the AUC. The training course aimed to imparting participants with initial knowledge and skills of RDA and enabling them to applying RDA according to MARC 21. 65 trainees from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Senegal, and Serbia participated in this training course. Dr. Saleh Almusned, director of the AUC Center, opened the training course. He was pleased with the attendance of trainees. He also emphasize on the importance of keeping pace with all updates in the world of libraries and organizing information, and continuous training, which helps workers of libraries and organizing information to keep up with latest technological updates in the world and which witnesses a rapid change in the field. Dr. Almusned was also pleased with the AUC strategy in organizing such training courses. He also announced that there are new package of training courses not provided previously. At the end of this training course, Dr. Almusned delivered attendance certificates to all trainees during a wonderful party.
